FAQ
Frequently Asked
+ What does prepping and leveling mean?
Prepping and leveling is when we have to remove excess debris like dirt, rock, grass, old curbing and more. After removing excess material we then we have to level the ground in which the curbing will go on top off to make sure its level according to your needs.
+ Why do we charge for prepping and leveling?
Doing prepping and leveling, on average, adds 1 extra hour to each job. That extra hour adds up to one job less we can schedule in our day. We also end up hauling away material which we then have to collect and pay to dump.
+ What does 1lb/mix even mean?
Most colors require 1lb of color powder which we add to the mix to color the concrete for your curbing. There are certain colors, usually darker colors (deep reds, charcoals, deep brown, and more) that require more than 1lb/mix. Any color that requires more than 1lb of color per mix will be an extra charge since it adds to the cost of materials for your curbing.
+ Why the difference between non-decorative and decorative?
Decorative curbing requires more time to complete. On average the decorative curbing job takes 2.5 hours more on top of the regular time. We also have to stamp the curbing to match what you want it to resemble. It also requires more color, release agents and sealers.
+ Why do commercial size mold or large quantity jobs require per job pricing?
Even if we are installing the same footage as a residential mold, commercial size mold can take longer to install and do require more material. With large quantity jobs its possible it may require all day or multiple days and we have to price accordingly.
+ Why do commercial size mold or large quantity jobs require downpayments?
As a small family owned and operated company, we want to keep healthy cashflow to make sure we are able to service you. Commercial size molds or larger quantity jobs usually require large amounts of materials that we cannot cover for at this time for commercial customers. We hope to be able to do this in the near future.
+ Why are landscaping jobs not priced at $ per square foot or something like that?
Over the years we have learned that pricing our jobs based on square footage, linear foot or anything like that (with the exception of curbing) is not accurate. Each job is unique and requires specific solutions which we have to price based on the current material prices, labor prices, our overhead, and a reasonable profit to be able to invest back into our people and business so we can remain in business and continue to serve our customers.
+ Why are landscape job payments broken up and not just one full payment due at completion of job?
We do not want to rob Peter to pay Paul. We want to keep a healthy cashflow in our business and want to create trust between you and us. We have found the best way to do this is to break jobs into payments such as payment to schedule, payment to buy materials, payments based on reaching milestones, and finally upon completing the job.
